Playwright Samuel Beckett is among the literary giants of Ireland, and a recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Born in Dublin in 1906, Beckett, like so many other great Irish writers was influenced by the Irish landscape, culture, attitude, and humor. One of his most his celebrated plays, Waiting for Godot, deftly balances the tragic with Beckett’s Irish humor.
Geffen Playhouse is partnering with the Consulate General of Ireland for a special night dedicated to all things Irish. Visit the "Pop-Up Consulate" and learn more about Beckett’s homeland, where he began his distinguished career.
