Actor

Paul
Reiser

An accomplished actor, writer, and stand-up comedian, Paul Reiser co-created and starred in the critically acclaimed NBC series, Mad About You, which garnered him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

Prior to his primetime success, Reiser first gained notoriety in feature films after starring as part of the ensemble cast in Barry Levinson’s Diner. He has since continued to turn in memorable performances in such films as Beverly Hills Cop (I and II), James Cameron’s Aliens, The Marrying Man, Bye, Bye, Love, and One Night at McCool’s.

Additionally, Resier has just released his third book Familyhood, which chronicles his experiences as longtime married father of two. His previous two books, Couplehood and Babyhood were New York Times bestsellers.

Lesser known, perhaps, are Reiser’s musical talents. Having majored in piano and composition in college, Reiser, along with Grammy winning producer Don Was, co-wrote the theme song for Mad About You entitled, “The Final Frontier”. It has the distinction of being “a huge hit” on Mars when it was used as a wake-up song for the Mars Pathfinder, Sojourner Rover, in 1996. Most recently he began co-writing songs with long time friend, singer/songwriter Julia Fordham, and the result is a 10 song compilation with Fordham on vocals and Reiser on piano. The album, Unusual Suspects, was released in November 2010.

In 2003, Reiser made his theatrical debut in Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block, an evening of one-act comedies that marked Mr. Allen’s first time out as a director for the stage. In 2005 Reiser also produced, wrote, and starred in the feature film "The Thing About My Folks, in which he got to star alongside Peter Falk, who he long admired and for whom he wrote the role.

A native of New York City, Reiser and his family now live in Los Angeles.
